The motif
We prepare every motif as a vector graphic and laser it individually in our workshop near Hamburg, line by line, into high-quality black specialty paper. Fine details, rows of scales, fin rays, feathers, claws and talons stay sharp even up close.
The technique
Our motifs are made by laser ablation: precise, high-energy laser radiation vaporises the top layer of the specialty paper. What appears are the fine, high-contrast lines that make our motifs so distinctive.
The framing
Every print is available unframed or in a black solid wood frame, in A5 or A4. Our frames are made of solid wood in Italy and present your favourites from water, forest and terrarium in a stylish way.

Tech-Nerd meets Science-Nerd.
Tech nerd and science nerd, that's us: Nikolai and Fabian. We have known each other not for half a lifetime but for a whole one, because we are brothers. Together, we are SCALE Editions.
